Social media marketing is all about buzz, hype and other inter-personal communication. Without these elements, you’d be reduced to just another internet marketer trying to push your products on them. What I don’t really understand is how some people can just ignore what’s already out there, ready for the taking, and just sticking to their creative sides.
Of course being creative helps a lot with social media marketing but it simply isn’t just enough. You’ll need to know which things are hot right now and which are not. With the help of everyone’s favorite search engine, you can see trends and what people are searching for. Armed with such data, you can tailor your social media marketing campaign to make it seem that your product was designed with them in mind.
We’re all familiar with AdSense and Analytics but there are other Google services out there that one can take advantage of when creating a social media marketing campaign. One such service is Google Alerts. What this service does is it alerts you every time that something relevant comes up on the search string that you have provided.
You can have up to 1,000 alerts on at any one time so that’s a lot of research right there just by using a single service. You can even setup an alert for your name or your product so you can see what is being said about you or the product that you’re offering.
Google Alerts is just one of the myriad of services available out there that you can take advantage of if you want to succeed in social media marketing.
